On Sunday 27 October 2024, 64 players got together at the Knysna Golf Club to participate in our 3rd annual Golf Day.
“Not even the uncertainty of the inclement weather could damp the enthusiasm of the participants and judging from the early morning laughs we realised that everyone was present and willing to contribute to our cause”-Marietjie Digue -Facility Manager.
One could feel the tension building before tee-off time as the prizes to be won were special and the two-man teams worked out their strategy.
The siren at 09h00 was met with a lot of anticipation and excitement and one could feel that it was time for the business of the day.
The participants competed in weather which represented all 4 seasons in one day.
Five hours later the players gathered in the clubhouse and we provided something to eat which was well received.
There were 25 team prizes, 6 individual prizes, 3 raffle prizes, numerous lucky draws, and, of course, an auction with various items, which was well supported.
With the support of the Knysna Golf Club staff, the day was an overwhelming success and our 2025 Golf Day is in the planning stages already. “ It is with a heart of gratitude that we can report that we reached our target set out for the day, which means that we can purchase a brand-new hospital bed for one of our frail patients.
